Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services and products provided by KSK9 Dog Training & Behaviour (“KSK9”), including one-to-one training, video consultations, support packages, Focused Training Sessions, dog walking, Supported Walks with Chief, group classes, group training walks and digital materials.

By booking a service, purchasing a product or accessing digital materials, customers agree to these terms.

These terms should be read alongside the relevant service description and booking confirmation, which explain the price and what is included.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

2. Training Services

Training is delivered using modern, ethical, force-free methods grounded in communication, structure and consistency.

Advice and guidance are based on information provided by the owner and behaviour observed at the time of consultation.

Training is a collaborative process. Progress depends on the dog’s individual needs, health, history and environment, alongside consistent implementation by the owner outside sessions.

Specific behavioural outcomes, timescales or permanent changes cannot be guaranteed.

Training guidance does not replace veterinary advice.

3. Owner Responsibility & Welfare

Owners are responsible for their dog’s health and welfare and for providing accurate, relevant information before services begin.

Dogs must be fit and healthy enough to participate. Medical concerns, suspected pain, recent injuries or significant changes in behaviour may require veterinary assessment before training or walking proceeds.

Where behaviour is suspected to be influenced by pain or a medical condition, veterinary clearance may be required.

In accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, owners are responsible for meeting their dog’s Five Welfare Needs:

  • A suitable environment.
  • A suitable diet.
  • The ability to exhibit normal behaviour patterns.
  • Appropriate housing with or apart from other animals.
  • Protection from pain, suffering, injury and disease.

Owners must also:

  • Disclose relevant medical conditions, medication, injuries and behavioural concerns.
  • Disclose any reactivity, aggression, bites, attempted bites, escape behaviour or handling difficulties.
  • Provide suitable, secure equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate control of their dog when attending sessions.
  • Follow agreed safety instructions and training guidance.
  • Notify KSK9 promptly if their dog’s health, behaviour or circumstances change.

Dogs must remain on lead unless otherwise agreed with KSK9.

Vaccinations, Insurance & Infectious Illness

These requirements help protect participating dogs and the dogs around them. As walks and some training sessions take place in public spaces, other dogs and members of the public may also be present.

Dogs attending group training classes, group training walks or Supported Walks with Chief must:

  • Have completed their initial vaccination course and be up to date with vaccinations, including kennel cough.
  • Have valid pet insurance, including third party liability cover suitable for the activities being booked.
  • Be fit and healthy enough to participate, with no signs of kennel cough or another contagious illness.

These requirements also apply to classes and walks included in the Complete Training Course.

Before the first session, owners must email proof of vaccinations, including kennel cough, and insurance cover to contact@ksk9dogtraining.co.uk, including their name and their dog’s name.

Proof must be received and checked before the dog can attend. Vaccinations and insurance must remain current throughout attendance. Updated proof may be requested following renewal or changes to cover.

Owners must follow veterinary advice about when their dog can safely mix with others after vaccination or illness.

Dogs showing signs of an infectious illness must not attend any session. Owners must notify KSK9 promptly and seek veterinary advice about when it is safe to return.

Dogs in Season

Female dogs must not attend group classes or Focused Training Sessions while in season. Suitability for other services will be discussed individually.

Owner responsibilities do not remove KSK9’s duty to provide services with reasonable care and skill.

4. Reactive or Aggressive Behaviour

Where dogs display reactive or aggressive behaviour, owners acknowledge that risk cannot be completely eliminated.

Training aims to improve management, confidence and behavioural responses, but specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Owners are responsible for implementing agreed safety measures during and outside sessions.

An assessment, preparatory training, suitable equipment or muzzle training may be required before a particular service can proceed. Any additional fees will be explained beforehand.

5. Refusal of Service

KSK9 may decline, adapt, pause or end a service where proceeding would create an unreasonable risk to dogs, customers, the trainer or others.

This may include illness, unsuitable equipment, significant undisclosed behavioural or medical history, or repeated failure to follow safety instructions.

Where possible, KSK9 will explain the concern and discuss appropriate next steps.

Where a service ends because of a customer’s breach of these terms, any payment retained will reflect services already provided and reasonable, unavoidable losses arising from the cancellation. Unused payments are not automatically forfeited.

Where KSK9 cannot continue providing a service for reasons unrelated to a customer’s breach, section 13 applies.

6. Bookings & Payment

Prices, service details and any additional charges will be confirmed before booking.

All services must be paid for in advance unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Submitting an enquiry or booking request does not automatically confirm an appointment. Unless a different booking process is stated, appointments are confirmed once payment has been received and written confirmation provided.

Unpaid provisional bookings may be released after the payment deadline given.

Group class reservation deposits follow the arrangements in section 11.

KSK9 will usually respond to enquiries within 48 hours, although responses can sometimes take longer. Urgent enquiries should be made via WhatsApp.

7. Focused Training Sessions

Focused Training Sessions are short, goal-specific appointments covering subjects such as recall, loose lead walking or reactivity.

They are not a full behavioural assessment. Guidance is limited to the selected subject and advertised session duration.

Booking requests must be made at least seven days in advance and are subject to availability at the advertised days, times and locations.

If a request is accepted, a payment link will be sent. Unless otherwise agreed, the full session fee must be paid within 24 hours to secure the appointment.

If payment is not received within that period, the provisional reservation may be released. The session is confirmed once payment has been received and written confirmation provided.

Customers must provide:

  • Their dog’s name, age and breed.
  • Whether their dog is neutered.
  • Relevant medical conditions, injuries or health concerns.
  • Any reactivity, aggression or bite history.
  • A brief outline of the help requested.

KSK9 may request further information or recommend another service where a Focused Training Session would not be appropriate for the dog’s needs.

Focused Training Sessions take place outdoors and are subject to the cancellation and weather arrangements in sections 12 and 13.

8. One-to-One Consultations & Support Packages

The appointments, follow-ups, check-ins and support included in each package are those advertised and confirmed when booking.

Where a £25 initial consultation payment is required, it is credited towards the first session or agreed package.

If the consultation has taken place and the customer decides not to proceed, that payment covers the completed consultation.

Phone and email support

Support packages provide access to phone and email guidance within the agreed scope and support period.

Choosing not to contact KSK9, or using less support than anticipated, does not itself entitle the customer to a refund while the agreed support remains available.

Unused support cannot be exchanged for cash or additional appointments.

Included follow-up appointments and quarterly check-ins should take place within the agreed package period unless an extension is agreed.

Additional appointments are charged separately. Discounted additional sessions are available only where included in the full support package and confirmed before booking.

For video consultations, customers are responsible for providing a suitable internet connection and an appropriate environment for the consultation.

9. Dog Walking

Dog walking is available in Bedford only, subject to suitability, availability and any assessment required.

This service involves KSK9 walking the dog without the owner attending.

The duration, price, collection arrangements, walking location and any transport will be agreed beforehand. Walks involving additional dogs from the same household are subject to suitability and an agreed price.

Dogs who are uncomfortable with unfamiliar people may require introductory sessions before walks begin.

Owners must provide suitable equipment, agreed access arrangements, veterinary details and an emergency contact.

Dogs will only be walked off lead with the owner’s express permission and where KSK9 considers it appropriate. KSK9 may keep a dog on lead where necessary for safety or welfare.

Transport will only take place where agreed and suitable arrangements are available.

If a dog becomes unwell or injured, KSK9 will attempt to contact the owner or emergency contact and seek veterinary advice where appropriate. Urgent veterinary attention may be obtained without waiting for a response where delay could compromise welfare.

Owners are responsible for reasonable veterinary and associated transport costs, except where these arise from KSK9’s negligence or breach of the agreed service.

10. Supported Walks with Chief

Supported Walks with Chief involve the owner attending with their dog while KSK9 provides guidance alongside Chief.

Chief can be fast, lively and vocal. Distance, pace and interaction will be adapted to the dogs involved. Participation does not guarantee direct interaction, play or off-lead activity.

Owners must disclose relevant reactivity, aggression and bite history before booking.

Dogs who are reactive or aggressive towards other dogs must have a one-to-one session before joining a Supported Walk with Chief.

A muzzle may be required. Muzzle training can be provided through a one-to-one session, with any additional fees explained beforehand.

Walks may be booked individually or as a prepaid block of six, taken weekly or fortnightly as agreed.

These are individual appointments and follow the cancellation arrangements in section 12.

11. Group Training Classes & Walks

Group classes are limited to four dogs. Group training walks are limited to six dogs in total, including any dogs accompanying the trainer.

Groups may include dogs of different ages and learning stages. Places are allocated with consideration for individual needs, suitability and the group mix.

An assessment or alternative service may be recommended before joining a group.

Owners attend with their dogs and remain responsible for handling them and following safety guidance.

Group classes and the Complete Training Course

Standalone group classes consist of six weekly sessions, finishing with a friendly competition and a certificate on completion.

The Complete Training Course includes:

  • Six weekly group classes.
  • Ten fortnightly group training walks.
  • Access to the chosen printable Puppy Starter Pack or Rescue Starter Pack.

The Complete Training Course runs over approximately six months. Agreed scheduling changes or postponements may affect the completion date.

Locations

Oakley Dog Barn provides an indoor training space throughout the year.

Outdoor park classes normally run from spring to early autumn and are weather dependent.

Location preferences are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. The agreed location will be confirmed before the course is booked.

Waiting list and reservation deposits

A £25 reservation deposit secures a place on the waiting list and is deducted from the fee for the six-week group classes or Complete Training Course.

A reservation does not guarantee a particular start date, time or location.

KSK9 will confirm course dates within one month of receiving the deposit. This refers to confirming the dates; the course itself may start later.

In the unlikely event that dates are still being arranged after one month, the customer can remain on the waiting list or request a full refund of the deposit.

Once dates are agreed with the group, KSK9 will confirm places in writing, book the training space and request the remaining balance.

The payment deadline will be included in the confirmation. The confirmed-course cancellation arrangements in section 12 apply once those dates are agreed and confirmed.

Group training walk passes

Group training walk passes are discounted prepaid packages allowing up to the advertised number of walks within the agreed period.

The allowance, start date and expiry date will be confirmed before payment. Places on individual walks must be booked in advance and remain subject to suitability and availability.

Customers can choose which available walks to attend. If they cannot attend a booked walk, they are asked to give as much notice as possible so the space can be offered to someone else. They can book another available walk within their pass period, up to their allowance.

Missed or unused walks are not refundable where suitable walks have been available. Carry-over or an extension may be agreed with KSK9, depending on individual circumstances.

Walks are weather dependent and may need to be rearranged. Walks cancelled by KSK9 will not use any of the customer’s walk allowance. Replacement opportunities or an extension will be arranged where needed.

If the affected walks cannot be provided, the refund arrangements in section 13 apply.

These arrangements also apply to group walks included in the Complete Training Course.

The seven-day cancellation rule for individual appointments does not apply to these group walks. Cancellation of a whole pass or course is covered by the package cancellation arrangements in section 12.

12. Cancellations & Rescheduling

To cancel or reschedule, customers should contact KSK9 by:

The message should include the customer’s name, their dog’s name where applicable, the booking or course concerned, and the relevant dates or order reference if available.

Individual appointments

A minimum of seven days’ notice — 168 hours before the appointment — is required to cancel or reschedule a one-to-one session, video consultation, Focused Training Session, dog walk or Supported Walk with Chief.

With at least seven days’ notice, payment for the affected appointment will be refunded or transferred to another appointment by agreement. Any separate consultation already completed remains chargeable as explained in section 8.

For cancellations with less than seven days’ notice, or missed appointments, KSK9 may retain up to the full appointment fee from the advance payment to cover the loss caused by the cancellation.

Reasonable steps will be taken to fill the appointment. Costs saved and income from any replacement booking will be taken into account.

This policy protects scheduled working time and availability for other clients.

The online and telephone cancellation arrangements below also apply.

Group training walks attended through a pass or the Complete Training Course follow the separate attendance arrangements in section 11. The seven-day individual appointment notice period does not apply to these walks.

Group class cancellations

Once course dates are confirmed and the training space is booked, a full refund may no longer be available if the customer cancels.

Deductions may cover services already provided and reasonable, unavoidable losses caused by the cancellation. These may include a share of non-refundable training-space costs or losses from a place that cannot be filled.

KSK9 will take reasonable steps to reduce those losses. Costs saved and payments from any replacement participant will be taken into account, and the same loss will not be charged twice.

Any deductions will be explained to the customer.

Missing a class does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund or replacement session.

Group training walk attendance follows section 11.

Cancelling a package, block or pass early

Customers may request cancellation of a complete package, block booking, group walk pass or Complete Training Course.

Any refund will take account of services already provided and reasonable, unavoidable cancellation losses, allowing for costs saved and replacement bookings.

For support packages, services already provided include the period during which the agreed support was available, as well as completed appointments and check-ins. Choosing not to use available support does not itself create a refund entitlement.

A breakdown of any deductions will be provided.

Any usage period or expiry date will be explained before payment. An expiry date will not be introduced retrospectively.

Online and telephone bookings

For service contracts made online or by telephone, customers normally have 14 days to cancel, beginning the day after the contract is agreed. This includes undated waiting-list reservations.

Where a legal exception applies to a particular booking, this will be explained before payment.

Customers can exercise this right by sending a clear statement that they wish to cancel within the applicable period.

If a customer expressly requests that a service begins during the cancellation period, and the charging arrangements have been explained beforehand, a proportionate amount may be charged for services provided up to cancellation. This is calculated using the agreed contract price.

The cancellation right ends once a service has been fully performed only where the customer has made the required express request and acknowledged that the right will end on completion.

Refunds due under these cancellation arrangements will be made within 14 days of notification, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

Digital downloads follow section 16.

13. Changes, Weather & Cancellations by KSK9

Sessions or walks may need to be adapted or postponed because of illness, unsafe weather, unsuitable ground conditions or concerns about welfare or safety.

Customers are asked to allow reasonable flexibility where these circumstances arise. KSK9 will give as much notice as possible and work with customers to find a practical alternative.

Minor adjustments, such as changing a walk route or meeting point within the booked location, do not automatically entitle customers to a refund, provided they do not materially affect the agreed service, accessibility or the dog’s needs.

Where a session needs to be postponed, KSK9 will seek to agree a replacement date, taking account of the customer’s availability and original booking arrangements.

Once a replacement date is agreed, payment transfers to that booking and the usual cancellation terms for that service apply.

If KSK9 cannot provide the booked service and a replacement cannot be agreed, payment for the affected service will be refunded. Where a substantial change prevents a customer from continuing a course or package, this includes unused services affected by that change.

For group training walk passes and walks included in the Complete Training Course, replacement opportunities and extensions follow section 11. If KSK9 cannot provide the affected walks within a reasonable period, the affected unused portion will be refunded.

If Chief is unavailable, the supported walk will be rearranged using the same process.

Where the booking remains available as agreed and the customer decides not to continue, the customer cancellation arrangements in section 12 apply.

14. Travel

KSK9 Dog Training & Behaviour is based in MK43.

Where travel is included in the advertised service, travel within a 10-mile radius is included in the session fee.

Additional travel is charged at 30p per mile. Any travel charges will be confirmed before booking.

Dog walking is available in Bedford only. Collection, transport and any associated charges are agreed separately.

15. Products & Equipment

Physical products are subject to the Shipping & Returns Policy.

Customers are responsible for selecting appropriate sizing and specifications. If unsure, clarification should be sought before purchase.

Collars, enrichment products and other equipment must be used appropriately, checked regularly for wear and used in accordance with the instructions provided.

Dogs should be supervised where appropriate when using equipment or enrichment products.

Responsibility for damage, injury or loss depends on its cause. These terms do not exclude responsibility for defective products or KSK9’s own negligence.

16. Digital Materials

Digital training packs and resources are provided for personal use only.

Digital downloads are supplied immediately after payment. Once supply begins, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded for a change of mind, provided the required consent and acknowledgement have been obtained.

Before immediate supply begins, customers will be asked to expressly agree to immediate access and acknowledge that their cancellation right ends when supply begins. This consent and acknowledgement will be recorded in the order confirmation.

Where digital materials are included in a wider training package, this applies to the digital materials only and does not remove cancellation rights relating to the remaining services.

All materials remain the intellectual property of KSK9 Dog Training & Behaviour.

Customers may download and print materials for use within their own household. Materials must not be shared, redistributed, published or resold without written permission.

17. Limitation of Liability

KSK9 will provide services with reasonable care and skill and take appropriate steps to assess and manage foreseeable risks.

Owners must provide relevant information, suitable equipment and follow agreed safety guidance.

KSK9 is not responsible for loss or damage caused solely by:

  • Failure to follow agreed training or safety guidance.
  • Withholding relevant behavioural or medical information.
  • Misuse of equipment or failure to provide appropriate supervision.

These provisions do not exclude responsibility for foreseeable loss arising from KSK9’s negligence, breach of contract or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Changes to Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time. The current version will be available on the website for future bookings.

The version agreed when a booking is made applies to that booking.

Any proposed changes affecting an existing booking will be discussed and agreed with the customer.
